Closing Prayer for Landon’s Service

Dear Father in Heaven,

We thank you for the life of Landon and the time that we had with him and the difference that he made in his family’s lives, his friends, community and the world dear Lord. We remember Landon for his ability to see the person sitting at the back row, quiet and not in the conversation, at the edge of the crowd. 

For he saw the ones that were at the side. He knew how to start; to bring that person from the outside into the center. He knew that care is given just by asking how they are, focusing on who they are with little reference to himself. He knew how to care and do it more through asking than saying.

So, as we are here today, help us to know the power of love and of asking. Help us to see the value in others and the strength given to them by caring as Landon did.  Help us all, who have found our way to this church, and this service, and in remembering Landon, to then see the connection we have to each other, to the teachings of Jesus, and to the ultimate love of God the Father.

We thank you for your loving strength and feel your arms around us. We ask a special blessing of love and strength for Skip, Melinda, Lincoln, Logan, Lauren, and those that surround them as they go through life without their son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
